What JumboSIM sells, whose networks you actually connect to, how we make money, and the limits worth knowing before you buy.
A travel data plan you install before you fly. It is an eSIM — a SIM written into the phone rather than pushed into the tray — so there is no card to swap, nothing to collect at an airport, and nothing to post.
You buy a plan for where you are going, we email you a QR code, and you install it at home on wifi. It starts counting from the first time it connects in the destination, not from when you bought it.
Because the alternatives are all worse in the same way. Roaming with your home carrier works everywhere and costs more than the hotel. An airport SIM means a queue, a passport, a tray tool and a phone number nobody has. Hotel wifi is not a plan; it is a room.
What people actually want is for the phone to work when the plane lands, without a decision at the other end. That is the whole product.
We do not run mobile networks. Nobody selling travel eSIMs does — the industry is a layer on top of local operators, and honest sellers say so.
We buy capacity wholesale from an eSIM supplier who holds the agreements with those operators, and resell it as plans priced in US dollars. When you connect in Hong Kong you are on csl or SmarTone; in Japan, on a Japanese network. That is why coverage and speed behave like the local network, because they are the local network.
It is also why the product pages name the networks. If a page does not tell you whose signal you will be using, that is worth asking about — of anyone, not just us.
The margin between what a plan costs us and what you pay. That is all — no subscription, no account, no data resold, no advertising, and no fee added at checkout.
We would rather say that plainly than let you wonder. A travel app that is free and asks for a lot of permissions is usually being paid by someone who is not you.
The Privacy Policy lists exactly what an order record holds and who touches it.
A travel eSIM is not magic, and the failure modes are worth knowing before you buy rather than after:
If it does not work and we cannot fix it, you get a replacement or your money back. Not installed it yet? Full refund for 30 days — the policy in full.
JumboSIM is one of a small group of travel tools built by the same people, each solving one thing on the same trip: JumboRadar for finding the flight, JumboSIM for the data when you land, and JumboChat for the conversation you cannot start.
They share a look and nothing else — separate products, separate prices, no bundle you have to buy into.
Start with Help: installation, no-data troubleshooting, validity and refunds are answered there, and it is faster than waiting on a reply. If it is none of those, our contact form at the end of that page reaches a person, usually within a day.
